1.2. Nature of Service
Soundate is a voice-based dating mobile application that enables users to build connections with each other through sharing voice messages, text messages, and images.
1.3. Contract Formation and EULA Acceptance
These terms of service constitute the contract between the User and the Provider. The contract is formed upon completion of registration, when the User expressly accepts these terms. During the registration process, the User must actively approve these Terms of Service (e.g., by checking a checkbox) before the account can be created. Registration cannot be completed without explicit acceptance of these terms.
2. Eligibility and Registration

2.2. Registration Requirements
During registration, you must provide mandatory or optional information:
- Mandatory Data: Email address (or Google/Apple ID), nickname, gender, date of birth
- Mandatory Content: Voice introduction, profile picture
- Optional: Search preferences (gender, age range, distance)
2.3. Account Security
You are responsible for your account security and all activities performed with it. You must:
- Provide real and accurate information
- Handle login credentials securely
- Immediately notify us of any unauthorized access
- One person may only create one account
3. Service Usage
3.1. Permitted Use
You may use the Soundate application only for personal, non-commercial purposes. The purpose of the application is to establish genuine human connections.
3.2. Prohibited Conduct
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Using false identity or impersonating another person
- Harassment, threats, humiliation
- Sharing sexual, obscene, or offensive content
- Hate speech, racist, discriminatory, or violent content
- Commercial use, spam, advertising
- Soliciting money or goods
- Advertising prostitution or any illegal activity
- Collecting or storing personal data of other users
- Using automated systems (bots)
- Exploiting application vulnerabilities
- Spreading viruses or malicious code
- Illegal sharing of copyrighted content
3.3. Content Moderation and Enforcement
We do not perform automatic content moderation, but:
- Users can report inappropriate content or behavior using the in-app reporting feature
- We reserve the right to investigate reports
- In case of violations, we may issue warnings or delete accounts
- In serious cases, we may contact authorities
4. Intellectual Property
4.1. Soundate's Intellectual Property
The application, its design, logo, code, and all other elements are the exclusive intellectual property of the Provider. It is prohibited to:
- Copy, modify, or reverse engineer the application
- Use the Soundate brand name or logo without authorization
- Resell any part of the application
4.2. User Content
Regarding uploaded content (voice recordings, images, messages):
- You own the content you upload
- By uploading, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to operate the service
- You warrant that the content does not infringe third-party rights
- You are responsible for the legality of uploaded content
5. Data Protection and Security
5.1. Data Processing
For detailed information on the processing of your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy. By using the application, you accept our data processing practices.
5.2. Device Permissions
We request the following permissions for the application to function:
- Camera: For taking profile pictures and photos
- Microphone: For recording voice messages and introductions
- Location: For distance-based search
- Storage: For uploading photos from gallery
5.3. Communication Security
6. Matching and Communication
6.1. Match Creation
A match is created between two users when both like each other. In case of a match, both parties can send messages to each other.
6.2. Messaging
After a match, the following communication forms are available:
- Voice messages
- Text messages
- Image sharing
6.3. Ending a Match
Either party can end a match (unmatch) at any time, in which case:
- Communication immediately ceases
- Decisions about access to previous messages will be made in future version updates
- The other party does not receive notification of the unmatch
7. Account Suspension and Deletion
7.1. Account Deletion by User
The account deletion option is directly accessible within the application's settings. You can delete your account at any time in a few steps. Deletion:
- Is immediate and permanent
- Permanently removes all personal data, content, voice recordings, messages, and profile information associated with the account
- Is irreversible — the account and data cannot be restored
- Does not require contacting the Provider — the process can be completed entirely within the application
7.2. Automatic Deletion Due to Inactivity
If your account remains inactive for 2 years, we will automatically delete it. We will notify you by email 30 days before deletion.
7.3. Account Suspension or Deletion Due to Violations
The Provider reserves the right to suspend or permanently delete your account without warning if you:
- Violate these terms of service
- Provide false information
- Engage in illegal activities
- Harass or endanger other users
- Are reported by multiple users
8. Service Availability
8.1. Availability
We strive to ensure the service is continuously available, but we do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted operation
- Error-free service
- Constant availability
8.2. Maintenance
We may perform periodic maintenance during which the service may be temporarily unavailable. We will notify you of planned maintenance whenever possible.
8.3. Service Modification or Termination
We reserve the right to:
- Modify service features at any time
- Add or remove new features
- Temporarily or permanently terminate the service
9. Limitation of Liability
9.1. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee:
- That you will find a suitable partner
- The authenticity or accuracy of user profiles
- The outcome of interactions between users
- That the service will meet your expectations
9.2. Exclusion of Liability
The Provider is not liable for:
- The conduct, content, or actions of other users
- Offline meetings between users or their consequences
- Data loss, unless caused intentionally or through gross negligence
- Indirect, special, or consequential damages
- Damages caused by third parties (Firebase, Google, Apple)
9.3. Personal Responsibility
- Using the service and its consequences
- Interactions with other users
- All offline meetings – be careful!
- The legality of uploaded content
10. Fees and Payment
10.1. Free Service
The basic Soundate service is free to use. Registration, recording a voice introduction, browsing profiles, liking (with daily limits), matching, and the basic chat features are all available free of charge.
10.2. Soundate Premium Subscription
The Soundate Premium subscription provides additional features, including:
- Unlimited likes
- See who liked you
- View profile pictures after just 5 minutes of mutual conversation (instead of the default 10 minutes)
- Teleport to another city to discover other users
The subscription is available for the following periods:
- 1-month subscription
- 6-month subscription
- 12-month subscription
10.3. Lightning Voice
Lightning Voice is a one-time (non-subscription) purchasable item that allows you to send a voice message to another user without having a match. Lightning Voice packs are available in the following sizes:
- 1 Lightning Voice
- 5 Lightning Voices
- 10 Lightning Voices
Lightning Voices are consumable purchases: once used, they cannot be restored, and they do not expire.
10.4. Automatic Renewal and Cancellation
The Soundate Premium subscription automatically renews at the end of the chosen period (every 1, 6, or 12 months) unless the User cancels at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Soundate → Cancel Subscription
- Android: Google Play Store → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Soundate → Cancel
Cancellation does not take effect until the end of the current subscription period — premium features remain accessible until then. The subscription cannot be cancelled within the Soundate app itself; it can only be managed through the device settings or the respective app store.
10.5. Payment Processing
All purchases (both subscriptions and Lightning Voices) are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store payment systems. The Provider does not directly handle bank card or payment details. The purchase amount is charged upon confirmation to the payment method associated with the user's Apple ID or Google account.
10.6. Refunds
Refunds for purchases are handled by Apple and Google according to their respective refund policies:
- iOS: Refunds can be requested at reportaproblem.apple.com
- Android: Refunds can be requested through the Google Play Store account settings
The Provider is not authorized to issue refunds directly for purchases made through the app stores.
10.7. Restoring Purchases
If you switch devices or reinstall the application, you can restore your subscription and previous non-consumable purchases using the "Restore Purchases" feature within the application. Consumable purchases — such as Lightning Voices — cannot be restored after use.
10.8. Price Changes
The Provider reserves the right to modify subscription and other purchase prices. In case of a price change:
- Apple and Google will notify affected subscribers in advance according to their own policies
- The new price takes effect from the next renewal cycle
- The subscriber may cancel the subscription instead of accepting the price change
11. Complaint Handling
11.1. Filing Complaints
If you have a complaint about the service or another user:
- Use the in-app reporting function
- Write to us: info@soundate.app
- We aim to investigate complaints within 30 days
11.2. Dispute Resolution
We primarily seek to resolve disputes arising from these terms amicably. If this is not possible, the competent Hungarian courts shall proceed under Hungarian law.
12. Other Provisions
12.1. Modification of Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms of service at any time. Regarding significant modifications:
- We will notify you by email or within the app
- We will communicate 15 days before the modification takes effect
- Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the modified terms
- If you do not accept the modifications, you may delete your account
12.2. Applicable Law
These terms of service and the use of the service are governed by the laws of Hungary.
12.3. Severability
If any provision of these terms proves invalid or unenforceable, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
12.4. Assignment
The Provider is entitled to assign its rights and obligations under this contract to a third party. The user may not assign their rights or obligations.
12.5. Entire Agreement
These terms of service and the Privacy Policy together constitute the entire agreement between the parties.
13. Apple App Store Terms
The following terms apply to the use of the Application when downloaded from the Apple App Store. These terms are required by Apple Inc. and supplement the rest of this agreement.
13.1. EULA Parties
This End User License Agreement (EULA) is concluded between You and the Provider (Csordás Zoltán E.V.) only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). The Provider, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Application and its content.
13.2. License Scope
The Provider grants You a non-transferable license to use the Application on any Apple-branded device that You own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This license also allows family members who share through Family Sharing or volume purchasing to use the Application.
13.3. Maintenance and Support
The Provider is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to the Application, as specified in this EULA or as required under applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the Application.
13.4. Warranty
The Provider is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the Application to conform to any applicable warranty, You may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the Application. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Application, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be the Provider's sole responsibility.
13.5. Product Claims
The Provider, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims You or any third party may have relating to the Application or Your possession and/or use of the Application, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the Application fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
13.6. Intellectual Property Claims
In the event of any third-party claim that the Application or Your possession and use of the Application infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, the Provider, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
13.7. Legal Compliance
You represent and warrant that: (i) You are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) You are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
13.8. Third-Party Terms
You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the Application (e.g., Your wireless data service agreement).
13.9. Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary
Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA, and upon Your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this EULA, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this EULA against You as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
